What you type into the tools

Every calculator and the invoice generator on MarginToolkit runs entirely in your web browser. The prices, costs, fees, addresses and line items you enter are used to compute results on your own device and are not sent to our servers, logged or shared.

When you close or reload the page, those inputs are gone. If you save an invoice as a PDF, the file is created by your browser and saved wherever you choose.

What we collect

Like nearly every website, the servers that deliver MarginToolkit receive some technical information each time a page loads:

• Your IP address, browser type and device type
• The page you asked for, the page that linked to it, and the date and time

We use this to keep the site running, secure and fast, and to understand in aggregate which tools people use. We may use privacy-focused analytics that count visits without cookies and without building a profile of you. We do not sell personal information.

If you email us, we keep your message and address only as long as we need to reply and follow up.

Advertising and cookies

MarginToolkit is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. In plain terms:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• Other ad vendors and ad networks may also place cookies or use similar technology (such as web beacons) when they serve ads here.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your choices

• Turn off personalized ads from Google in Google Ads Settings.
• Opt out of personalized ads from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators keep working without cookies; you may simply see less relevant ads.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to ask for a copy, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or "sharing" for targeted advertising. This includes residents of California and other US states with privacy laws, and people in the EEA and UK under the GDPR.

Because we don't run accounts, we hold very little that identifies you. Most advertising data is held by Google and its partners, and the choices above are the quickest way to control it. For anything else, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Services we rely on

• Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and protects it from abuse. It processes request data such as IP addresses to do this.
• Google AdSense serves the ads described above.
• Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google's servers.

Links to marketplaces like Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and eBay take you to sites with their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

Children

MarginToolkit is a business tool meant for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage for a while.
